Dr. Trevor Mintz

Dr. Mintz has been the Clinic Director/Chiropractor at Douglas Square Chiropractic since 2000. He has been practicing chiropractic since 1999 and is also a certified Active Release Techniques (ART) provider since 2001 and Graston Techniques provider. As a chiropractor, Dr. Mintz treats a lot of neck and back pain, but he also has a keen interest in treating problems in the shoulders, arms and legs that result from sports injuries or repetitive motion activities. In his treatment plan, Dr. Mintz takes into account how not only the bones of the spine are moving, but also how the muscles that control them may be contributing to the problem.

He is active in mountain biking, snowboarding, coaching hockey, ultimate frisbee, but most of all keeping up with his two young boys at home.

Dr. Lindsay Alcock was born and raised in Calgary and graduated in 2000 with a Bachelor of Kinesiology degree from University of Calgary. She competed in the 2002 and 2006 Olympic Winter Games for Canada in the daring, head-first sliding sport of Skeleton. In 2004, she was ranked No.1 in the world overall and captured the silver medal at the World Championships. It was during her ten years of high-performance sport when Dr. Alcock became inspired to help others reach their health and wellness goals. She graduated with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic West in June 2013 with valedictorian honors.

Meghan began her training as a massage therapist in London, England. After spending 7 years abroad she could no longer ignore her cravings for fresh air and open spaces. She returned to Canada in 2006 to finish her training at The Foothills College of Massage Therapy in Calgary. Since becoming a registered practitioner Meghan has worked at a sport therapy clinic in Calgary, Canmore and for the past 2 winters has worked in the the Badshot Range of the Selkirks with the heli-ski company CMH . Whether it be for injury treatment, pre/post natal care or just to decrease stress, she recognizes the benefits of massage and believes it should be a part of everyones’ health care routine.

Amber graduated with honors from the McKay Massage & Hydrotherapy 2400 hour program in Saskatoon, SK (June 2002). She was decorated with the Spirit Award, the Clinical Proficiency Award, the Clinical Management Award, and an Attendance Award. She also received a letter of recognition for exceeding the required number of clinic massage hours.

Amber practiced in Medicine Hat for 2 years post graduation before relocating to Vancouver, BC. There, she joined Vida Wellness Spas as a mobile massage contractor at various hotels and client’s homes. During her six years on the West Coast, Amber studied Ayurvedic treatments and utilized her Hydrotherapy training.

Currently, Amber is educated in a variety of massage modalities including Deep Tissue, Relaxation, Pre & Post Natal, Myofascial Release, Reiki, and Ayurvedic

Jessica Schiewe participated in the last graduating class of Foothills College of Massage Therapy, completing the 2200 hour program in 2007. Following graduating she has developed her specialties in Lumbopelvic/Craniosacral/Myofascial therapies. Also, a Breast massage course focusing on women’s health & self care. Over the past 7 years Jes has been working directly with chiropractors, athletic trainers,physio therapists and Chinese acupuncturists, developing together cohesive treatment plans for our clients. She has been expanding her practice with children massage, ranging from 2-12 years of age. Her background specializes in child care & children with special needs. In 2000 Jes completed her Certified Education Assistant certificate, along with partaking in volunteer programs for special needs. She will continue to explore new areas for healing the body with new & innovative practices.

Paula Shearer completed the Mount Royal University Massage Therapy program in 2010. From a young age Paula took an interest in massage when she became intrigued in how the muscles worked through activities. She started competing in multiple sports by the age of 5 and has continued to be active ever since. This has given her a greater knowledge of the importance of maintaining muscle consistency and mobility throughout everyday life. Her education in sports and therapeutic massage is sure to relieve your aches and pains, whether its to prepare you for any physical activity or just to get you back on your feet!

Paula is also an avid fly fisher and in the summer months is a fly fishing guide for her company On the Fly.

Cheryl graduated with honors from MaKami College with an Advanced Clinical Massage 3000 hour diploma. She received a certificate of recognition award for both Outstanding Academic Achievement and for Attendance. She also has a degree from the University of Waterloo in Psychology.

Cheryl is educated in a variety of massage techniques including Lymphatic Drainage (level 1), TMJ treatment, Migraine trigger point therapy, Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release, Relaxation, Cupping, Children 10+, Pre & Post Natal and Athletic Injuries.

For fun Cheryl enjoys running, hiking, snowshoeing and spending time with her family.

Christine graduated from Mount Royal’s 1100 hr Massage Therapy Certificate program in May 2010. She has spent the following years providing massage in Calgary. In 2015, Christine completed NHPC’s CEE (Competency Equivalence Exam-2200hrs).

Christine has most of her experience in deep tissue therapy and relaxation massage. She has had further education in Hot & Cold Stone massage, and she is also an infant massage instructor, with a special interest in prenatal massage.

Christine enjoys an active lifestyle walking, biking and exercising regularly. Along with this she strives to receive massages for herself, as well as chiropractic care on a regular basis.

Tyler is a graduate of the 3000 hour massage therapy program at Makami College where he specialized in whiplash and shoulder injuries.  His interest in anatomy and wellness help to bring a unique touch to every client and treatment.  Before beginning his massage therapy education Tyler participated in a number of competitive sports for much of his youth including hockey, lacrosse, ski racing, boxing & soccer.

Erika is originally from Banff Alberta, and moved to Calgary in 2014. Erika obtained her Kinesiology degree with Honours from Wilfrid Laurier University, during which time she volunteered at a Pedorthic clinic and immediately was drawn to the profession. Erika continued on to complete the Pedorthics program at Western University, graduating with distinction. Erika quickly became certified after completion of her diploma and is a proud member in good standing of both the Pedorthic Association of Canada and the College of Pedorthics of Canada.
